About us

History

Kirwan Insurance Services Ltd was founded in 1972 as Davis Kirwan Thornton and has operated from the same offices in Dun Laoghaire ever since. Audie Kirwan FCII was one of the original founders and remains as Chairman today. In 1985, we merged with Robert J Jolley & Company , with Arthur Jolley B.Comm., ACII continuing as Director in the business.

In 1995, having worked for ten years for various Life Insurers, Paul Kirwan BA, QFA, FLIA established the Financial Services arm of the business.

In 2002 John Kirwan, BA., MBS, ACII joined the General side of the business, having worked previously for McKinsey Consultants and Willis in London

We are members of the Irish Brokers Federation, the Investors Compensation fund, the LIA and are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Service

Our priority is to provide professional, personal service and independent advice to our Commercial and Personal clients on the full range of Insurance. Our policy is to get to know our clients individually and to establish long term relationships. Our clients deal with the same staff member each time they call to ensure that these good relations exist. As a private, family-owned company, all our Associates focus solely on you, our client, rather than public shareholders.

Staff

All our Employees and Directors have more than 10 years experience in Insurance, and are fully qualified to provide Insurance advice. We aim to provide continuity of service with many of our staff have been with us for twenty years or more.
